If so, holy shit what a badass Queen. And if not, I still feel like just the idea that she said this makes me automatically about 3.7% more British. Have some British cars for your time:

It's satire, but although I am strongly anti-monarchist, I still have a healthy respect for the Queen. It's more the rest of the royal family that I have a problem with. And I wholeheartedly approve of the selection of cars.

It's under the humour section, so (disappointingly) no. The Queen's actual statement was very delicate - she merely warned people to make their decision very carefully...

Oh, whew. I figured she was old enough to stop caring about public perception.
The New Yorker wasn't really making it clear this was humor, and Google had it on their news section. My bad.

Yeah, it's not real. But QE2 is pretty badass in her own right. She has a penchant for driving her own Land Rover Defender 110s around Balmoral Castle. And she did some mechanic work during WWII.

That's one thing I do respect about the British Monarchy. Most of them end up serving their country in the military. Prince Philip had two ships sunk under him in WWII, William and Harry were doing real work in Iraq and Afghanistan (like calling in helicopter raids), and Prince Andrew flew multiple missions during the Falklands War.

It's an old school monarchy, for the better and for the worse.
